Christmas dinner at Mama and Daddy’s

A couple that mama and daddy are friends with a church came to dinner since their son lives out of state and they don’t have any family in the close area.

You’ve probably noticed a trend of Daddy closing his eyes in pictures. The flash hurts them. lol

A picture of the whole family minus Shelly because she was behind the camera. I love how ALL the dogs are in the picture in some way. Barky is hiding behind Bell, you can just see his tail. Shelly got more on her camera with all of us in it. Her camera takes a bunch of picture when it’s set on auto and the first few I’m sure we all looked nice but then by about the 3rd Ki had figured out there was this big thing on legs flashing and she started walking slowly across the room looking at it cocking her head all around. We were all laughing so I’d love to see that whole sequence.

Christmas lunch at Hutch and Dana’s

I missed all the presents being unwrapped because things were changed up a bit this year but I still tried to get as many pictures as I could of everyone! Dana said she would get me some pictures of what I missed earlier in the morning. I’m looking forward to seeing them!

Getting a picture with Brent can prove to be difficult! lol he’s a little ham!

It’s always fun to watch them playing with their toys. Austin was focused on his Lego’s and those things have come a long way!

And after getting dressed for lunch. He reminds me a lot of that cousin he looks so much like.

Brent had some planes and a nice Nintendo DS to play with.

Christmas eve at Meme’s

I had a great time at Meme’s tonight. As always we enjoyed some great BBQ and Brunswick stew. We all sat around the table talking and had a good time.

I had the girls dressed up in their festive wear but Ki’s shirt was too big and it kept sliding down off of her shoulders and looked bad. Pooh was super cute in her little shirt though!! She even had both of her ears up for a few minutes!

Then she got tired and went and found a pillow to take a quick nap on before the food was served.

It looks like messing with the dogs must run in the family.

And this is a video from Pop’s house and I forgot to add it to that post and it’s a pain to edit so I’ll just throw it on this one. We were laughing SO hard at Jaden. I’m not sure if you can hear it but at one point Eric said “we could have saved a lot of money if we had just known to buy you a box for Christmas!”

Bookshelf with drawers

One of my good friends asked me if I could build a bookshelf with drawers for her living room. She wanted somewhere to put photo albums and drawers for all their DVD’s. This is what I came up with.

I turned the spare room into my paint room so I wouldn’t have to work out in the garage when it’s so hot and cold. It really helped to have it inside but the cold still really slowed down the stain drying even with a heater and 2 fans moving air around.

I actually found the drawer pulls at Target! I really like them a lot and she did too. She was happy with it and it looks great in the living room. I wanted it to be darker but I had to get it delivered on the 16th since she had family coming in on the 17th and I needed to drive home. I told her if she wants it darker  after looking at it in the house a little while I could sand the poly off and put a couple more coats of stain on it but it just wasn’t possible to do that and have it dry in time to deliver. It was barely dry as it was!

I’ve been a slacker

Major slacker! I’m always busy when I’m home and this time was no different and then once I got back to TN I’ve been super busy and haven’t spent the time to write anything on here. So here is what’s going on! I’m happy to report that Ki is now using her steps all by herself to get in bed. She decided after we got back from GA that the steps really are pretty nice! I’m now done with volleyball this year. It’s  a little bittersweet because we had such a good time but we did find out about another gym that does open volleyball 2 days a week so we are going to try that out. We won 2 games this season, almost won a bunch more but oh well. 

I had a great birthday. Only thing that could have made it better is if I was at Disney with my boy like I was last year. Sigh, kind of hard to beat that one. The boy bought me a Kindle and I was so excited to get it! I’m amazed at how much it really looks like reading a paper book! I love it so far!

I went to dinner with some of my best friends here in town and Mari and I wore the same exact clothes. It’s like we share a brain!

This weekend Mari and I went to an Ugly Sweater party but we know how hard sweaters are to find now since these parties are so popular we made our shirts. We had volleyball games at 7 & 8 that night so we were going to go afterward, well we ended up playing with another team for 2 games because they were short people then played our 2 games and we didn’t get done playing until 9:30 and we were SO tired by the time we got to the party we couldn’t even enjoy it. LOL we look exhausted in all the pictures. We bought the fabric at Hobby Lobby and had to get big t-shirts because we knew once we glued the fabric on the shirt wouldn’t stretch but we didn’t think about the fabric being so stiff so the shirts look really huge. haha they were ridiculous.

 

And last it snowed on my birthday. I repeat, it snowed. This does not bode well for the rest of this winter at all. Not at all.

I’m working on a new project for a friend. I’m building a bookshelf with drawers and have to get it done by Christmas so I’ll have pictures soon.
