Dining room storage table

I found plans for this fantastic dining room table on Knock Off Wood (http://knockoffwood.blogspot.com/2010/01/plans-storage-dining-table-pottery-barn.html ) and knew I had to build it. The table we have now has seen better days, it's over 20 yrs old and some pieces walked away during one of our moves so it's more than a little wobbly. N and I bought all the wood to start on the table Fri afternoon and we've had a good time building this together. It's not often we spend all day working on something together without butting heads even a little. lol This has definitely been a project that needs 2 sets of hands!

The frame for the table this morning

With the inner aprons attached.

On top of the wood we used for the table top. We had to cut out the circle because we couldn't find a round top in the size we wanted.

The finished base with the feet attached.

N adding support to the bottom of the table top. That thing is sturdy now!

Whoohooo!!! Finished! Now on to sanding and staining!

With the feet it's a little taller than we had anticipated so our current chairs are too short but that's fine because we were planning to replace them anyway. Hopefully Anna will have the plans for her parsons chairs up soon and I can build those to the size I need!

So that's how we spent all day today! I think tomorrow morning we will putty all the screw holes and call it good until Mon and I'll start sanding!
